My Training Style

Unlike pedagogy, which is geared towards child-based learning, andragogy is geared towards adult learning. Typically, I take a humanistic-centered approach to training because this approach almost always leads to a very positive experience for the attendee. Of course, my approach may change based on the learning objectives and goals outlined by my collaborative or leadership team.

If the sessions are delivered online, the best learning experience will come from a wide range of multimedia and interaction to ensure the information is appealing and informative while moving at a visually interesting pace.

If the training is in a classroom or seminar setting, I will use visual aids and physical activities such as ice breakers, role-playing and team-building challenges. Once the team building was accomplished, and the attendees were more comfortable, I dive into the content with a multimedia approach and used engaging visuals, tell stories, and present interesting data. I make sure that the training differentiated is to reach all learners.

In learning environments, most adults want to know:

  • Why am I in training?

  • What do I need to know?

  • When do I need to implement tasks or changes?

  • How do I accomplish the goals?

. Overall, my approach to training is interactive and encouraging with a little humor to lighten the mood.
